Good to the Last Drop: BeautyCounter No. 1 Brightening Oil

With the amount of skincare items I use, there aren't many items that I keep going back to time after time. Beauty Counter's No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil is easily my favorite skincare product and I've been using it over 3 years. I began using it because I was researching a way to add Vitamin C to my skincare routine after my facialist suggested it.

Vitamin C has the following benefits:
  • Promotes collagen production. Collagen is what gives your skin firmness and elasticity
  • Helps reduce signs of aging by repairing damage done by free radicals and the sun
  • Even outs and brightens skin tone
After some research I decided to try out Beauty Counter's No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil. The citrus smell is enough to make you fall in love with it. Beauty Counter is a clean beauty brand with very high standards for their products. Beyond the benefits of Vitamin C their No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil has other ingredients that provide skin benefits. Avocado oil is high in Vitamins B, D & E which aids in hydration. Black Current Oil is rich in omegas which helps your skin barrier.

If you have never used an oil in your skincare routine before, start with just a few drops at night. You can slowly work your way up to a half dropper or full dropper of oil. One big misconception on oils is that they will make your skin more oily, which is not the case. If you have oily skin, you can still use oils!

The main way I have incorporated this oil into my routine is to apply at night. It is the last step in my routine before I moisturize. I give it a few minutes to soak in a bit before I add my moisturizer.

On days when I'm wearing minimal or no makeup I love to put on the oil in the morning to give my skin a healthy glow! It also mixes well with any moisturizer that you have. I personally love to mix it with this Nivea Creme at night if I don't want to apply it separately.

I find myself using this oil even more in the winters to combat dry, flaky skin!
